Meet Your Guide:
My name is Colby Gentry and I have spent my entire life in the Port St. Joe/Mexico Beach area. I grew up fishing any and every piece of water I could find but I really developed a passion for inshore fishing around 3 years ago when I purchased my first fishing kayak. Since then I have spent every second of my free time on the water chasing these amazing fish. I do a lot of scouting and put in a lot of time and effort to figure these fish out and I am very knowledgeable of the area.
What To Expect:
Each kayak fishing charter is customized to suit your specific needs. We typically aim for an early departure to catch the morning bite but we can adjust accordingly to fit your schedule. We will have the options to fish several locations for various inshore fish species including Redfish, Speckled Sea Trout, Flounder and many more! If you wish to keep your catch I will have a cooler with ice on my kayak so you can do so. I also offer to clean and vacuum seal your catch for a small fee. Florida has some of the most beautiful waters and bays in the world. You can typically expect to see a variety of marine life including sea turtles, dolphin, sharks, rays, birds and many more! All gear will be provided but you can also bring your own if you would like. The main goal is to ensure that you have a safe, comfortable and unforgettable day on the water. I want everyone to end the day satisfied with the service I provide!
Kayaks:
Our fleet of kayaks include (2) Old Town Sportsman Auto Pilot 120 motorized kayaks and (1) Old Town Sportsman 120 PDL pedal driven kayak. All kayaks are 12' long and include a weight capacity of over 500 pounds. These kayaks are top of the line in stability and comfort making fishing all day a breeze! The motorized kayaks feature a remote that controls the speed and direction as well as a foot controlled rudder system providing a fairly hands free fishing experience. The motorized kayaks can push around 3-4 mph and include a spot lock anchoring feature that can hold you on a specific spot with the push of a button. A safety walk through will be provided at the beginning of the trip to ensure maximum safety and comfort on the water. I will explain how everything works and adjust the kayak to fit you. All kayaks feature a water tight dry box big enough for your smaller belongings, keys, wallet, phone, ect.
Gear Provided:
I will provide each person with top of the line fishing gear to ensure you have the right tools to get the job done. Each person will get (2) rods rigged with lures that I feel best for the location and conditions of each day. I will also have plenty of extra tackle on my kayak if we need to swap around and make adjustments. We typically will we using a variety of artificial lures but if the fish are being stubborn I will try to catch live bait using a cast net. Inflatable life vests will be provided and are required to be worn during the duration of the trip, they're super light weight and comfortable. Each kayak with also be equipped with a pair of fishing pliers, floating fish grips and a floating landing net but I can also assist with the handling and removal of hooks from fish. The rods and reels we will be using are Shimano Scimitar 7'0 Medium Power-Fast Action rods paired with Shimano Nasci 2500HG spinning reels, spooled with 10lb Power Pro Super Slick Braid. These combos are light weight and smooth making a big difference when fishing from kayaks.
Locations:
You will have the option to fish from different locations along the Florida Panhandle including Port St. Joe FL, Cape San Blas FL, Indian Pass FL, Tyndall Air Force Base FL and Panama City FL. Check out my YouTube videos to see beautiful footage of each location. I will typically choose the area where we fish based on conditions for that day but the choice is ultimately yours and can be adjusted according to where you're staying and what areas you'd like to fish. If we decide to fish Tyndall AFB a $20 recreational permit is required per person and can be purchased online through the Tyndall iSportsman website, I can assist with this process if needed. This permit will give you access to all of Tyndalls beaches and boat ramps for 1 year. If you have a specific species your trying to go after just let me know and I will put us in a location where we have the best shot at catching that species.
What To Bring:
A Florida saltwater fishing license is required by each person and can be purchased online, in store, or through the Fish | Hunt FL mobile app. I can also assist with that process if needed. Below I have listed the prices.
Resident Annual: $17.00
Resident Five-Year: $79.00
Non-Resident Annual: $47.00
Non-Resident 3-Day: $17.00

A nice hat, sunglasses (polarized preferred), sunscreen, insect repellent and water shoes would be a good idea as it can get very hot out there and gnats can be bad in some areas.
Bring water or any drinks of your choice, (no alcoholic beverages) and something to snack on if you wish. The back hatch area of the kayaks have a space large enough to fit smaller coolers. I will also have a fish cooler on my kayak with ice that you can throw some drinks in if you wish.
